Neurotech Micro-credentials
A partnership between Queen's University and NeurotechX. Engineers and computer scientists have the hard skills required to innovate in NeuroTech, but they often lack foundational neuroscience knowledge; the reverse is true for biomedical and social science students. Business students have industry skills and entrepreneurial spirit but lack foundational skills about the brain. Most groups of learners know little about neuroethical and regulatory frameworks. Our aim is to address these various gaps by developing an initial suite of core micro-credentials to prepare students to transition to this industry or help people in the workforce upscale their skills to do so.
Neuroelectronic Recording & Processing
In the Neuroelectronic Recording and Processing (NRP) micro-credential you will learn about state-of-the-art neurotechnology devices that are capable of recording from the nervous system and using the information for consumer or clinical purposes. You will learn about the types of electrical brain signals that can be recorded across spatial scales and ...Neuroentrepreneurship
The micro-credential provides an overview of what it means to venture into Neuro Entrepreneurship, spanning from having an idea to pitching a business to investors. This module will walk the participant through these different steps by providing some insights as well as a list of extra resources. At the end of the course, the participant will understand ...
Neuroethical Considerations
This microcredential teaches students how to conduct an analysis of ethical issues that may emerge in the application of neurotechnology. Students will explore a spectrum of neurotech use-cases (clinical, wellness, consumer, corporate, defense, and security) and the ethical issues involved. At the end of this course, students will develop the skills ...Neuroimaging
